If you are currently
enrolled in an academic program that requires field work for your
degree, of if you would like to learn boatbuilding for credit,
Cooperative Internships are an excellent way to add an experiential
element to your studies.

We are
very flexible and creative when working with school administrators
to determine what is required for credit. While building a boat
is the major focus of the study, some students are required to
keep written journals and write essays about their time at the
'Shop, while others have studied the managerial aspect of non-profit
organizations while learning how to build a boat.

You
can create your own program dependent on your interests, motivations,
and goals. If you would like more information about boatbuilding
training as part of your academic program, please contact the
administrator at your school, or get in touch with us directly.

For
the cost of materials, you can take your boat home with you upon
completion of the program. You do not need to bring any tools
for your Internship, though if you have some old favorites, we
encourage you to bring them along.
Apply
to begin a Cooperative
Internship and let boatbuilding be a part of your academic
education.
