2009 Waterfront Program Instructors
Under the guidance of Waterfront Programs Director, KC Heyniger (back left), Collin Pope (back, right) lead our Comunity Sailing Crew in 2009. Collin was joined by returning instructors Maya Holzhauer of Rockland (front right) and Mike Root (front left) of Owls Head. Adrienne Brown (center) of Camden completed our team.
Youth Instructor Trainees
Complementing
the full-time team each summer are Instructor Trainees. These
are experienced youth sailors familiar with the program who volunteer
to help the full-time staff. Prerequisite:
14 years of age, past Community Sailing participant, and instructor
permission. All
interested individuals are required to submit a resume and only
inquiries directly from applicants will be accepted. If this interests
you, please contact
KC Heyniger .
Employment
Opportunities
The Apprenticeshop employs a seasonal staff to instruct our youth sailing
courses. We look for individuals with good all around sailing
and interpersonal skills to act as leaders and role models to
the next generation of sailors in our programs. All interested
applicants are encouraged to submit sailing and professional resumes.
The Apprenticeshop seeks to "inspire personal growth through
craftsmanship, community and the traditions of the sea".
To encourage this, only inquiries directly from applicants themselves
will be considered.

"Just
wanted to say thanks for another great sailing experience for
Haley! I think it's important to stress to your instructors and
junior instructors that they are role models for our youth. The
instructors that Haley has had over the last four seasons have
been fabulous! They are really doing a great job.
Please be sure to let them all know how much we appreciate them.
The time they are giving to our kids will always be remembered
along with their sailing experiences. Thanks
again!"
