Sailing self-confidence  ·  Teamwork and excitement

Classic designs and modern keel boats

                                 Day sailing  ·  Racing

Along with learning how to rig and sail, our youth students (ages 8 to 15) experience the satisfaction of mastering new skills and joining a waterfront community that provides a wide range of maritime activities in midcoast Maine.

We endeavor to make our programs available regardless of financial considerations. Thanks to the generous support from individual donors and foundations, we are able to provide scholarships to area sailors who would not otherwise be able to afford a summer sailing experience.

On the southern edge of Penobscot Bay, Rockland Harbor provides an beautiful, sheltered location with a wide variety of sailing conditions.

Youth Programs include:

- Spring/Fall After School & High School Sailing
- Summer Community Sailing
- Special Events

Contact The Apprenticeshop for more info.

“The week has built up her confidence in her own abilities, even when she doubted them. Her fears of learning how to sail - not an easy thing at 8 - were diminished by the other students and teachers around her, who made her feel a part of the community.” -Parent of youth sailor, August, 2007
